Frequently Asked Questions
Who are the doctors at Hogle Chiropractic?
Dr. Matt Hogle and Dr. Charlene Hogle, D.C. Both are Arizona natives and both have practiced chiropractic since 1994. Both were named Phoenix Magazine Top Chiropractors in 2024.
Dr. Matt Hogle is an honors graduate of Parker College of Chiropractic. He is known for auto and sports injuries and is the practice’s FMCSA-certified medical examiner for DOT physicals. Dr. Charlene Hogle works with injured children, pregnant women and patients recovering from accidents, often includes neuromyofascial release, and has a special interest in scoliosis.
Where is Hogle Chiropractic?
5110 E Southern Ave, Suite 110, Mesa, AZ 85206, in the Signature Center on the northwest corner of Higley Road and Southern Avenue. Phone (480) 545-7988, fax (480) 892-6690.
What are your office hours?
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9 am to 12:30 pm and 2:30 to 6 pm; Tuesday 2:30 to 6 pm; Saturday by appointment only; Sunday closed. Times are Arizona time.
Do you accept walk-ins?
Yes, walk-ins are accepted. You can also call (480) 545-7988 or request an appointment online.
How do I book an appointment?
Call (480) 545-7988, use the appointment request form on the website, or walk in. Your appointment is confirmed when a member of the staff calls you back. Please don’t put personal health information in the form: email isn’t a secure way to send it.
What happens at my first visit?
The doctor goes through your health history, examines how your joints move, your muscle balance and posture (with a referral for X-rays if imaging would help), and explains what they found and suggest before any treatment. If you’re comfortable, care can begin that day.
You can fill in the intake forms at home before the visit; ask for them when you book. Bring a list of your medications, any recent X-rays or reports, and your insurance card if you have one.
What services does Hogle Chiropractic offer?
Chiropractic adjustments, spinal decompression, massage therapy, cold laser therapy, wellness exams, nutritional consultations, lifestyle advice and DOT physicals for commercial drivers. They often work together, and the doctors choose what suits you.
What conditions do you treat?
Back pain, neck pain, headaches and migraines, TMJ, shoulder and knee pain, neuropathy, sports injuries, auto accident injuries, work injuries and nagging aches that never quite go away. Every condition starts with a careful history and exam, a plain explanation and a plan made for you.
Do you do DOT physicals for CDL drivers?
Yes. Dr. Matt Hogle is an FMCSA-certified medical examiner. Appointments are usually available within 24 hours and walk-ins are welcome, though a booked time means less waiting and makes sure the examiner is in. The office has all the forms, and the Arizona MVD is 1.3 miles away. Insurance does not cover the DOT exam.
A pass can certify you for up to two years, or less when a health condition needs closer watching.
What should I bring to my DOT physical?
Your glasses or contacts and your hearing aids if you use them, your last Medical Examiner’s Certificate card, a list of your medications and doses with each prescribing doctor’s name, address and phone, and a yearly clearance letter from your cardiologist or other specialist if a condition or surgery needs one.
I was hurt in a car accident. Can you help?
Yes. Dr. Matt Hogle is certified through the American Academy of Motor Vehicle Injuries, which trains doctors to properly diagnose, document and manage injuries from car crashes. Whiplash and back injuries don’t always show up right away, so get checked and get it documented.
Hogle Chiropractic works with attorneys who will represent your best interest and wait until your case settles to be paid. Call (480) 545-7988.
Do you see children and pregnant women?
Yes. Dr. Charlene Hogle has extensive training and experience with injured children, pregnant women and patients recovering from accidents, and her techniques are gentle.
Can chiropractic care cure neuropathy?
No. Chiropractic care is not a cure for neuropathy. It can be one part of a wider plan with your other doctors: adjustments where the spine may be adding pressure on a nerve, soft-tissue therapy, exercises, and advice on habits that support nerve health. Please keep your medical doctor involved, especially if you have diabetes.
Where can I get the supplements Dr. Hogle recommends?
Dr. Hogle’s patients can order them from Restorative Formulations by creating a patient account through the link on the Nutritional Consultations page, which links the account to the office.
Does Dr. Hogle write books?
Yes, westerns. Dr. F. Matt Hogle finished the Jacob’s Gold saga, begun by his stepfather Larry Maxwell, with Against the Western Sky, and then wrote The Shadow Treasure and Warriors of the White Mountain. The covers are by his mother, Frankie A. Maxwell. The books are at classyreads.com.
